    Another effort for Nintendo to stop homebrewing,  the release of the updated Wii Menu 3.4 will now check automatically for suspicious save files such as the twilight hack and remove them.

    For how long will this ruin the homebrewers fun? Time will tell.

    During the BMO Capital Markets Interactive Entertainment Conference, Reggie Fils-Aime was talking about how Nintendo was having success despite the global economical crisis and also was asked about any holiday price cuts, his interview questions:

    Now that Microsoft just cut prices on the Xbox, you are the only console maker to not cut prices. Will you?

    The consumer is voting with their wallet and their pocketbooks that the Wii and the DS represent fantastic values. So far this year, month in and month out, the Wii and DS have been number one and number two selling systems for the month. That suggest our value equation is finely tuned at this point.

    After the great success of Wii Fit, EA Sports is now in the process of making the ultimate videogame based fitness training game with the name of EA Sports Active.

    This game was done with the help of Bob Greene the personal trainer of Oprah and it will be a Wii Exclusive game that will be released on Spring 2009.

    EA claims that it was:

    “designed specifically for women seeking a simple, fun and cost-effective way to achieve a healthy lifestyle.”

    With cardiovascular training, upper body and more, you could easily be on a better shape with this training that will be exclusive for Wii.

    Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed during a recent interview about the plans for Wii and the future of technologies, when asked about the rumor of the Wii HD he said:

    “…I’m afraid we cannot confirm what we are doing today. But the fact of the matter is that technology is evolving all the time and in Japan, for example…All the analog broadcast will be stopped and shifted into the digital broadcasting. So many things are taking place and we are working in terms of the changes of the technologies all the time.”

    A new milestone has been reached for the Nintendo Wii!  Nintendo 64 reached 32.9 million units worldwide and now Nintendo Wii has surpased those sales.   Currently Nintendo Wii has over 34.55 million unit sales, the next goal for the Nintendo Wii is to surpass sales of Super Nintendo which were of over 49 million units. But best of all, will it beat the sales of the classic NES of over 62 million sales?

  • Wii won’t have Resident Evil 5

    Masachika Kawata, producer of Resident Evil 5, was interviewed by CVG about the new Resident Evil 5, but what makes this interview important is one of its questions that is

    Things? Resident Evil 5 looks superficially similar to Resi 4; what’s been improved here?”

    Kawata’s response:

    “First of all, and quite obviously, the graphics. Even the title screen of this couldn’t have been done on PS2 or Wii.”

    So, Resident Evil 5 won’t be out for Nintendo Wii but it will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3.

    Do you want to watch your favorite TV Shows on your Wii?

    The Beeb from the BBC Network has enhanced their iPlayer to work excellent for the Nintendo Wi.  Anthony Rose from the BBC technology & Future Media said :

    “This was our first foray into TV-connected gaming devices. We didn’t know what the uptake would be, so we adopted a ‘keep it simple, get it out fast’ approach.”

    Among additions to current iPlayer, the user friendliness has improved by increasing the size of the buttons to better suit the WiiMote.

    Wii Music’s debut in Japan received great results, it became quickly by the 19th of October Charts,  the top sold videogame for the Wii. It received over 90,000 sales in this week and is also the most selling Wii Game for this week.

    According to VGHChartz.com it is expected that Wii Fit will outsale Grand Theft IV soon by selling over 225,000 units each week, this holiday season the Wii Fit is expected to exceed Grand Theft Auto IV unit sales.
