    Club Nintendo of USA is going to offer later this year a reward system in which you register your game on the Nintendo Website and special points will be added to your account.

    You can also do surveys and reviews for points, in exchange, you can use the points for exclusive Nintendo merchandise, this system will be implemented for market research and to learn the habits of the Nintendo gamers for better quality games and for rewarding Nintendo users.

    United Kingdom has a similar system that has been active for months/years.

    Hori: the new third party Wii Controller features a different way of placing the buttons with lots of buttons on the center it will be focused more for SNES and Gamecube games.   If it will be considered as a Gamecube Controller or a Classic Controller is yet unknown.

    It can be purchased from the Amazon Japan website for 2932 yen.

    After the financial report announcement of Nintendo, Iwata revealed the following news:

    “Iwata revealed that Nintendo is prepping a slate of WarioWare titles for release as downloadable DSiWare games. A variety of minigames from the Game Boy Advance and DS installments of WarioWare will be sold as DSiWare titles, and some original games making use of the system’s camera functionality will be packaged together as WarioWare: Photograph.”

    This new release will feature extended use of the built in camera for simple activities such as placing the Nintendo DSi on the table and moving it back to show the silhouette so it appears on game and also more movement detecting mini games.  This game will be released on late December.

    Today November 1,  Nintendo of Japan has released the Nintendo DSi for their country.  For the launch date 200,000 DSi’s were created and another 100,000 expected for November the 4th.

    Also news for North American continent were announced; Saturo Iwata,  Nintendo’s President said in an interview to Reuters:

    “Specific plans will be unveiled by our local subsidiaries, but an autumn or year-end launch would probably be too late,”

    So approximately,  Nintendo DSi will be arriving to the North American market by summer 2009.  It is a small update for the Nintendo DSi with features such as camera and web browser with store.

    A new milestone has been reached for the Nintendo Wii!  Nintendo 64 reached 32.9 million units worldwide and now Nintendo Wii has surpased those sales.   Currently Nintendo Wii has over 34.55 million unit sales, the next goal for the Nintendo Wii is to surpass sales of Super Nintendo which were of over 49 million units. But best of all, will it beat the sales of the classic NES of over 62 million sales?

    Nintendo Corp. has announced that during this holiday seasons,  Wii Productions will exceed 2.4 million per month to counter Wii Shortages that have been reported years ago.  The supply of the Wii has increased by 50% but the demand for the holiday season is yet unknown.

    Reggie Fils-Aime is expanding the promotions of Nintendo to many different type of consumers and currently he is targeting women.

    According to an interview by LA Times:

    Half the owners of our hand-held DS console are women. In terms of people who claim the Wii console as theirs, a third are women. That compares to about 20% for typical consoles. Among those who play the Wii, 50% are female.”

    hbc-300x39 Homebrew Channel now bypasses Nintendos Anti Homebrew

    Nintendo recently made an update for the Wii Shop Channel but also to fix the homebrewing problems.
    But, just after 2 days the Homebrew Channel managed to bypass the Anti Homebrew Code from Nintendo and also it is now possible to download the homebrew channel right after the update with the known method of Twilight Hack. A link to the latest update: Homebrew Channel Update Beta 9.

    This update also adds support to SDHC, something that Nintendo hasn’t implemented yet.


  • Wii won’t have Resident Evil 5

    Masachika Kawata, producer of Resident Evil 5, was interviewed by CVG about the new Resident Evil 5, but what makes this interview important is one of its questions that is

    Things? Resident Evil 5 looks superficially similar to Resi 4; what’s been improved here?”

    Kawata’s response:

    “First of all, and quite obviously, the graphics. Even the title screen of this couldn’t have been done on PS2 or Wii.”

    So, Resident Evil 5 won’t be out for Nintendo Wii but it will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3.
