Club Nintendo of USA is going to offer later this year a reward system in which you register your game on the Nintendo Website and special points will be added to your account.

You can also do surveys and reviews for points, in exchange, you can use the points for exclusive Nintendo merchandise, this system will be implemented for market research and to learn the habits of the Nintendo gamers for better quality games and for rewarding Nintendo users.

Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed during a recent interview about the plans for Wii and the future of technologies, when asked about the rumor of the Wii HD he said:

“…I’m afraid we cannot confirm what we are doing today. But the fact of the matter is that technology is evolving all the time and in Japan, for example…All the analog broadcast will be stopped and shifted into the digital broadcasting. So many things are taking place and we are working in terms of the changes of the technologies all the time.”

Another important question of the podcast was the game of Project H.A.M.M.E.R that was announced on the E3 way before Wii was launched.

Whatever happened to ´Project H.A.M.M.E.R.´? Has it really been cancelled?

Shigeru Miyamoto said he is not part of the development team and really cannot comment.

After the financial report announcement of Nintendo, Iwata revealed the following news:

“Iwata revealed that Nintendo is prepping a slate of WarioWare titles for release as downloadable DSiWare games. A variety of minigames from the Game Boy Advance and DS installments of WarioWare will be sold as DSiWare titles, and some original games making use of the system’s camera functionality will be packaged together as WarioWare: Photograph.”

This new release will feature extended use of the built in camera for simple activities such as placing the Nintendo DSi on the table and moving it back to show the silhouette so it appears on game and also more movement detecting mini games.  This game will be released on late December.

Today November 1,  Nintendo of Japan has released the Nintendo DSi for their country.  For the launch date 200,000 DSi’s were created and another 100,000 expected for November the 4th.

“Specific plans will be unveiled by our local subsidiaries, but an autumn or year-end launch would probably be too late,”

So approximately,  Nintendo DSi will be arriving to the North American market by summer 2009.  It is a small update for the Nintendo DSi with features such as camera and web browser with store.

A new study by the NPD Group has shown that the average video game collector has 48 titles and that 11% of gamers regardless if they are casual or not,  have videogames that are sitting there shrinkwrapped.

This study was asked randomly to 562 videogamers who have made a purchases at stores during the last six months.

An interesting observation here is that 88% of the polled gamers,  store their videogames in their original case, 8 percent in plastic sleeves but keep the case, and 5 percent keep the game and throw away the case.

Nintendo Corp. has announced that during this holiday seasons,  Wii Productions will exceed 2.4 million per month to counter Wii Shortages that have been reported years ago.  The supply of the Wii has increased by 50% but the demand for the holiday season is yet unknown.

Reggie Fils-Aime is expanding the promotions of Nintendo to many different type of consumers and currently he is targeting women.

According to an interview by LA Times:

Half the owners of our hand-held DS console are women. In terms of people who claim the Wii console as theirs, a third are women. That compares to about 20% for typical consoles. Among those who play the Wii, 50% are female.”

And for this holiday seasons what is Nintendo preparing for?

“For Nintendo, we project very strong sales. Our two platforms [Wii and DS] account for almost 70% of the dollar growth of the industry in the U.S. in the first nine months of this year, compared to last year.

Given that strong position, retailers are providing us with tremendous support. Retailers view the Wii and the DS as a way to draw more consumers into their stores. They are using it as a loss leader to drive traffic. This week, for example, Target is selling the DS for $125, when the normal price is $129.99.”

Today, Guitar Hero World Tour has hit american shelves as it is now available to USA, Canada and Mexico featuring new drum kits and microphone, similar to the competitor Rock Band.

There has been reports of flawed drum kits as mentioned on the Guitar Hero Forums , in which the red pad appears not to work, no info on how often this happens or the percent ratio of flawed drums.

Also, the marketing team of Guitar Hero has brought popular celebrities such as Michael Phelps and Tony Hawk to make a video advertising the new Guitar Hero World Tour.

It seems Call of Duty won’t be the same after this version, it was confirmed on a Gametrailers.com video that Call of Duty: World at War will have a hidden Nazi Zombie Mode that will be unlocked by completing the single player campaign.

The mission is a 4 Player Co-Op against a big army of dead nazi soldiers looking for some brains to eat.  This game will be out at November 11, 2008 in North America.

Masachika Kawata, producer of Resident Evil 5, was interviewed by CVG about the new Resident Evil 5, but what makes this interview important is one of its questions that is

“Things? Resident Evil 5 looks superficially similar to Resi 4; what’s been improved here?”

Kawata’s response:

“First of all, and quite obviously, the graphics. Even the title screen of this couldn’t have been done on PS2 or Wii.”

So, Resident Evil 5 won’t be out for Nintendo Wii but it will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3.
