Today November 1,  Nintendo of Japan has released the Nintendo DSi for their country.  For the launch date 200,000 DSi’s were created and another 100,000 expected for November the 4th.

Also news for North American continent were announced; Saturo Iwata,  Nintendo’s President said in an interview to Reuters:

“Specific plans will be unveiled by our local subsidiaries, but an autumn or year-end launch would probably be too late,”

So approximately,  Nintendo DSi will be arriving to the North American market by summer 2009.  It is a small update for the Nintendo DSi with features such as camera and web browser with store.

Also, for current Nintendo DS homebrew users gbatemp confirms that current homebrewing flash cards are incompatible with the Nintendo DSi such as the popular R4 DS.
